Kenneth Loren Laborde, 83, of Inman, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born August 21, 1942, in Perry, Iowa, Kenneth was a son of the late Erdyne McCann Laborde and Kenneth H. Laborde.
Kenneth was a retired investigator and claims adjustor in the railroad industry after 28 years of service. He was a dedicated “Railroad Man”, working for The Milwaukee Road and Union Pacific Railroads. Following retirement from the railroads, he had a second career working for an electric cooperative in Fort Myers, FL. Kenneth also served in the Iowa Army National Guard for 7 years.
A member of Woodfin Ridge Golf Club, Kenneth was passionate about playing golf! Eating ice cream and watching a good baseball game were other activities that brought Kenneth much pleasure.
Surviving is his loving wife of 40 years, Karen Sue Swanson Laborde; his daughter, Dawn Lynette Adams (Roger) of Urbandale, IA; his grandchildren, Justin Robert Estes and Zachary Dean Estes (Sydney); his great-grandchildren, Taliah and Adelaide Estes, and Tristan, Aurora, and Grayson Hess; and his brothers, Harry Laborde, Larry Laborde (Denise “Pearl”), and Robert Laborde (Mary). Kenneth was predeceased in 2024 by his granddaughter, Tara Hess.
Kenneth Laborde was a kind and hardworking man who enjoyed life and the happiness of friendship and family. He will be remembered fondly for the love and joy he shared with others.
