Anita Colant Obituary
Anita (Krissovich) Colant, 89, peacefully went to be with Jesus Sunday, April 7, 2024 surrounded by family in her home.
Anita was born September 23, 1934 to Andrew and Anna (Regallis) Krissovich in Akron and had been an area resident her entire life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony, brothers Andrew and Joseph, and grandsons Christopher Pinas and Jonathan Colant. She is survived by children Mary Ellen (Mark) Gauer, Debbie Pinas, David Colant, Anne (Robert) Alderman, Anthony (Laura) Colant, 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Anita was a faithful member of St. Francis de Sales parish. She cherished her husband and raising her five children. She unselfishly devoted her life to her faith and provided a loving home for her family. She loved wood crafting with her husband Tony, John Wayne movies, camping (happy hour), bingo, dominoes, family get-togethers, homemade wine and a recently found new love of freshly baked cookies. She will be dearly missed.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 4 to 7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home located at 1990 S. Main Street, Akron, OH 44301.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Road, Akron OH 44319 with a luncheon immediately following. Interment will then be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman at 2:15 pm.
