Anita L. Lewis, 95, of Theresa, New York, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown.

Anita was born on April 26, 1930, in Watertown, NY, the daughter of William L. and Hazel Merle (VanAlstyne) Jones. She graduated from high school in Adams, NY, and went on to earn her associate's degree in nutrition from Canton Agricultural and Technical College.

She dedicated her career to serving others through her work as a nutritionist, working in various hospitals across New York State. She concluded her career at Mercy Hospital, where she worked for several years before retiring.

She loved to garden, read, and spend time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Ronald A. Lewis and his companion, Margie Powers of Theresa, NY; her daughter, Laurene Blair and her husband Michael of Watertown, NY; three grandchildren, Samantha Blair, Joseph and Visnjal Blair, and Jeffrey Blair; two great-grandchildren, Jayce and Edward; and her brother, Alan Jones of Potsdam, NY. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Ronald Jones.

In accordance with her wishes, Anita will be cremated, and services will be held at the convenience of the family.

In her memory, donations may be made to a local food pantry in Theresa, NY.
