On June 18, 1971, Anita married her high school sweetheart, Milton Seldomridge, and
together throughout their 53 years of marriage, they built a life full of love, laughter, and
companionship. Their love story was a testament to their strong bond and devotion to one
another. Her heart was filled with joy by her family, especially her grandchildren, great
grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as "Grandmommy," and her two beloved dogs,

also enjoyed camping and found peace in the beauty and serenity of the outdoors. Anita
was well known for her love of decorating, frequently refreshing the style of her home, and
was especially known for her elaborate Christmas light displays, which became a much
anticipated highlight for her family and neighborhood each year.
Her compassionate nature extended beyond her own family. Anita had a special gift for
caring for children, and this was reflected in her career. She dedicated over 25 years to
Corsicana ISD, with most of those years spent at Bowie Elementary, where she served as
the P.E. aide and was affectionately known as "Mrs. S" to the countless students whose
lives she touched with her warmth and dedication. Prior to her time at Corsicana ISD, she
worked at the state school in Mexia, Texas, showing the same compassion and care for
others.
Anita was preceded in death by her father, Bill Valentine, brother, Ray Valentine, in-laws,
Milton Sr. and Allene Seldomridge; and her grandparents, Werdna Bunkley and Stella Mae
Hill, and H.O. and Ethel Valentine.

who adored her.

touched. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her passion for life, and the deep
love she had for her family, friends, and community.
