Anita Kay Volker

Anita Kay Volker, 62, died August 23, 2023 at Stafford County Hospital, Stafford. Born September 14, 1960 at Salina she was the daughter of Melva Kay Harrod and Doral Ray Julian. On June 20, 1998 she married Gary Dean Volker at the Bartlett Pond in Stafford County.
After graduating from Fairfield High School in 1979 she attended college where she received a Bachelors Degree in accounting. She then worked for the Law Firm of McDonald Tinker, Wichita. After meeting Gary she worked at the Stafford District Hospital, then later for Basye Well Service where her mother-in-law trained her in keeping oil field books. She was also a bookkeeper for A Cut Above for Patricia Paulsen, secretary & bookkeeper for Jerry's Automotive and no she wasn't a mechanic. She was also Gary's personal accountant. Anita loved her family, church and community and was faithful in attending church and community events. She loved all types of music and loved to sing especially at her beloved Zenith Community Church. She loved the mountains, flowers, gardening and shopping thrift stores. Anita always dreamed of being a race car driver, but her brothers wouldn't allow it. What Anita loved the most was her family, family gatherings and her grandchildren (her babies). She always loved to go and watch her kids and grandkids sporting events as often as she was able.
Anita is survived by her husband: Gary. Sons: Nash (Malorie) Volker and Kayne (Kim) Volker. Daughters: Heather Burns and Cierrah (Jarod) March. Brothers: Gary Julian, Andrew Julian, Tony Julian and Tim Julian. Sisters: Vicki Hinds and Pam Larson. 18 grandchildren that were her pride and joy and many, many dear friends that she loved like family. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Kenny Julian and Allan Julian.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 28 at Minnis Chapel, Stafford. Family will receive friends Sunday 5-7 p.m. at the chapel. Cremation will take place after the funeral. There will be a private inurnment at Stafford Cemetery. Memorials may be given as a Love Gift to the family in care of Minnis Chapel.
