Ann Elizabeth Kunce, age 90, of Shelbina, MO passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at the University Hospital in Columbia, MO.
Ann was born February 14, 1935 in Hannibal, MO, the daughter of Leo Lambert and Lois Elizabeth Little. She was united in marriage to Frank "Bud" Kunce on October 2, 1953 in Shelbina, MO. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2014.
She is survived by five children, Daniel Kunce of Shelbina, MO, Kevin Kunce (Carol) of Lee's Summit, MO, Justin Kunce (Maryann Singleton) of Ocala, FL, Sam Kunce (Teresa) of Shelbina, MO, and Bradley Kunce (Andrea) of Shelbina, MO; 13 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Theresa Teague of Vandalia, MO and Sue Roberts of Shelbina, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bud; one daughter, Dian Kunce; one grandson, Jack Kunce; and 18 siblings.
Ann was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and the St. Mary's Altar Society. She worked at Levering Hospital in Hannibal and area nursing homes. She served as the Director of Nurses at Clarence Care Center, Monroe City Manor Care, and also served as Nursing Home Administrator at Boonville and Moberly. Ann enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, and playing cards. Ann loved serving others and often volunteered throughout the community for several organizations, particularly at the Shelby County Pantry Thrift Store.
A visitation will be held Friday, January 16, 2026 from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shelbina, MO, with Father Bill Peckman as the celebrant. Burial will directly follow the service in the Shelbina Cemetery of Shelbina, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shelby County Food Pantry, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, or the Baptist Homes of Shelbina.
