Ann McGlade

Anne (Kyranna Demetrios Hatzigabriel) McGlade, born May 16th, 1928, passed away at age 97 on 1/1/2026 in Saint Augustine, Florida. She was surrounded by love and light from her family.
From her early days as a graduate of the High School for the Industrial Arts (now known as the School of Art and Design) in Manhattan, New York, Anne McGlade enjoyed decades of artistic growth and exploration. Prior to settling into Saint Augustine, Florida, Anne lived in Eugene, Oregon and New York City with extensive travels throughout the USA and to diverse art-rich venues such as Japan, Thailand, Israel, Spain, Greece, France, Italy, England, Australia, Tahiti, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
Ann worked in New York City as a fashion illustrator for various fashion houses, at the United Nations, and as a professional artist. Her paintings are represented in numerous private collections and have been shown in major exhibitions and juried art shows throughout the United States. Anne had an incredible gift. As she walked through life, things that may have seemed unassuming to others, Anne saw as beautiful art worth being shared. She painted people from all different backgrounds, having a unique ability to show what makes people special.
Anne's proudest accomplishment was her 3 children, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. She often spoke of how lucky she was. Her legacy lives on through her art which will inspire generations to come. Anne and her bright spirit were adored by all. Unique in every way, she is irreplaceable. Her life is a reminder: Find beauty in all things as a life led by love is the true work of art.
