Ann Moresco Obituary

Ann Theresa Moresco passed away peacefully in Watsonville on November 25, 2024. She was 95.

She is survived by her sons Robert (Linda) Moresco of Watsonville, Chuck Moresco of Gilroy and daughter, Jill (Kevin) Bird of Kansas City, Missouri; her grandchildren Matthew (Linda), Stephanie, Michael (Elise) and Shawn (Letysia) Moresco, Cassandra (David) Pimentel, Tyler (Nicolette) Sperry, Emily (Cameron) Eck, and Tanner (Christina), Brady (Ashley), and Molly Bird; and several great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years Robert "Bob" Moresco, her parents Blas and Ane Muhoberac Banovac, her brothers Peter and Charles Banovac, her daughter-in-law Sherae Moresco, and her great-granddaughter Sara Pimentel.
Born in Watsonville on May 28, 1929, Ann embraced her Croatian heritage throughout her life visiting the country and speaking the language as often as she could. Her love of community was evidenced in the clubs where she dedicated her time and forged lifelong friendships, including the Slavic American Culture Organization (SACO), the Young Ladies Institute (YLI) and the Sons and Daughters of Italy.

Ann sought out connection wherever she went, and was known to strike up conversations with strangers and would share their stories with compassion. A nurturer at heart, she never missed a birthday or an opportunity to celebrate and support her loved ones. Ann's warmth and generosity touched everyone she met, and her kindness extended to those in need as she freely gave to others.

With a joyful spirit, Ann brought spontaneity and passion to life, whether through cooking, playing cards, her love for sports and soap operas alike, or her close bond with her husband, with whom she shared a unique language of love.

Facing her final chapters with grace, her legacy of love and connection lives on through her family who carry her spirit forward. Ann's warmth and generosity will forever be remembered in the hearts of those she touched.

Visitation will be Monday, December 9, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mehl's Colonial Chapel, with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Valley Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Valley Catholic Cemetery.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Ann's caregivers whose tremendous care allowed her to live out her days in the home she cherished and lovingly raised her children in.

Donations in Ann's honor may be made to Hospice of Santa Cruz County or a charity of your choice.

I met Ann back in the 80s when her father was in the valley convalescent nursing home. She was a beautiful kind person as were her brothers. I enjoyed taking care of her father he used to call me Helena even though my name is Angie . My deepest condolences to her family

My condolences to Bobby, Chuck and Jill and all of your families on the passing of your mom. Ann (and Bob) were great friends of my parents and they enjoyed living across the street all those years ago. Ann was just the nicest person, and I will always have fond memories of her. My best to all of you, Connie Sauer
