Jane Nipper, age 87 of Cordele, passed away in her home on July 23, 2025. Jane was the daughter of the late Frank Smith and Sally Lucile Moore Smith. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Smith; and two sisters, Sue Nell Crumbley, and Jo Smith Deal. Jane graduated from Georgia Southern College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics, and became a Home Demonstration Agent serving several counties in Georgia. Jane's Home Economics degree served her well in her hobbies that were diverse, and she excelled in all of them. She was an artist with a needle as exemplified by her skills as a seamstress. All the curtains in her home were made by her hands and the intricate detail illustrated her innate ability. Jane's talents extended to the greenhouse where she nourished and produced professional grade plants with a specialty being ferns. With canvas and brush, her artistic skills were furthered in her accomplishments painting landscapes, birds, and flowers. Jane loved her church and was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church in Cordele where she attended and served faithfully. Jane is survived by her husband of 57 years, Virgil Nipper, of Cordele; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wayne and Patricia Nipper, of Cordele; and a number of nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial service honoring Jane Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 2:00 pm, in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. The family will receive guests prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm, in the Rainey Chapel as well.
