Ann L. Papada, 85, formerly of Shillington, passed away on December 19, 2025, at The Heritage of Green Hills, where she had resided for the past three years.
Born in Philadelphia, Ann was the daughter of Harold and Alfield (Parsons) Schaefer. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Susquehanna University and dedicated her professional life to education. Ann began her teaching career in the Ambler School District and later served as a substitute teacher in several Berks County school districts. Her final assignment was teaching GED and ESL students at Reading Area Community College, where she took great pride in helping adult learners achieve their goals.
Ann was a devoted mother to her two sons, Chris Papada, married to Jeryl, of Wyomissing, and Ben Papada, married to Tammie, of Shillington. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James C. Papada, who passed away in 2022.
Ann will be remembered for her commitment to education, her quiet strength, and her enduring love for her family. Her legacy lives on through the many students she guided and the family she cherished.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2025 at 11:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church, 30 Liberty St., Shillington, PA 19607. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10:00 am until the start of the service.
