Ann M Prudente

Ann M. Prudente, 101, of Slatington, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest.
She was the loving wife of Anthony Prudente, who passed away in 2009. Ann was born in Minersville and was a daughter of the late Andrew and Eva (Pauza) Sakalinskas. After graduation from Minersville High School in 1940, she sought her fortune in Washington D.C., on a train trip back home she met her husband returning from war. They were married 63 years and raised two sons.
Her skills were typing, stenography and shorthand. She then became an expert in publishing, proofreading, definitions and documentation. Then she received a security clearance with NASA and published the documentation and instructions for the Orion Space Project. So she started out in high school sewing pajamas on weekends to sending objects into space.
She is survived by sons, Paul (Monica) and Matthew Prudente, both of Slatington; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Washe, of Rochester NY.
A funeral service will be 3 PM, Friday, July 12, 2024, at Hunsicker Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 3438 Rte. 309, Orefield, call 2-3 PM Friday. Contributions may be made in her name to the Lehigh Valley Humane Society, 640 Dixon Street, Allentown, PA 18103.
