Ann Marie (Healy) Sawyer, formerly of Marlboro, passed away peacefully on February 25th in Framingham. She was the cherished wife of the late Richard "Dick" Sawyer, whom she cared for full-time following his diagnosis of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma until his passing. Ann Marie was a devoted mother to her children, Richard Jr and his wife Ellen Sawyer of Osterville, Paul and his wife Sue Sawyer of Northboro, Maribeth Jarosik of Newton and Christine and her husband Gary Shechtman of Newton. She was predeceased by her infant children, Gerard and Christopher. She was a beloved "Grammy and Marnie" to her grandchildren, Paul, his wife Alicia, Ricky, his wife Emily, Michael and Sean Sawyer, and Grace Jarosik, as well as a great-grandmother to Jack, Isla, and Eloise Sawyer.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Dr. John Healy and The Honorable Paul Healy. She was aunt to many nieces and nephews.
A lifelong educator, Ann Marie graduated from Mount Alvernia High School and Regis College. Her teaching career was sometimes paused to raise her children, to whom she was deeply devoted, valuing her role at home over her professional life. Nevertheless, she remained involved in the Marlborough school system, working part-time as a substitute teacher and tutor before eventually returning to full-time teaching until her retirement. Ann Marie was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Calling hours will be on Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 9:30-10:30am at the Slattery Funeral home, 30 Pleasant Street, Marlborough. Funeral service at 11:00am at St Matthias Catholic Church, 409 Hemenway Street, Marlborough.
