Ann Shaughnessy

ANN "NANCY" SHAUGHNESSY (nee Rilling), age 78, passed away peacefully at her home on January 2, 2025. Proud mother of Nancy Gerwig (Robert), William Shaughnessy IV (Kathleen Dunn), and Michael Shaughnessy. Beloved grandmother to Kyle Dunn-Devine (Stephanie) and Ryan Shaughnessy, and cherished great grandmother to Nora. Dear sister to Harry Rilling (Barbara) and John "Jack" Rilling (Barbara).
Nancy was an elementary catholic schoolteacher, who taught at several schools in Philadelphia eventually retiring from Blessed Trinity Regional Catholic School. She was a member of The Sons and Daughters of Erin. An avid Irish dancer, she was a longtime member of the Timoney Irish Dancers and danced in many Saint Patrick's Day parades including one in Dublin Ireland. She was a kind and loving Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmom and Nanny-Nan, she will truly be missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Friday, January 10, 2025, from 9:00AM until 10:45AM at Louis A. DiGiacomo Funeral Home, Inc., 1055 Southampton Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116, followed by her funeral mass 11:30AM at St. Christopher Church, 13301 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Blessed Trinity Catholic School, 3033 Levick Street, Philadelphia, PA 19149.
