Ann Marie Smith, age 99, of Southport, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025. Ann was the beloved wife of the late Franklin Henry Smith. Born in Boston, MA to Dominic and Mary D'Agostino, she was affectionately known as "Aunt Dedo" to many.

Ann had a lifelong love of travel, exploring the United States and the world, delighting in new cultures and cuisines. After many adventures with her husband, friends, and family, she settled in Southport, where she created a warm and welcoming home.

She is survived by her stepchildren, David Sewell Smith and Ruth Ann Green; her brother, Alexander D'Agostino; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ann was predeceased by her sister Catherine Hayner, her brother Lawrence D'Agostino, and longtime companion Frank P. Mondo.

Friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield, with calling hours one hour prior. Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Ann will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, warmth, generosity, and the joy she brought to everyone she met. She leaves a legacy of love and curiosity that will be cherished by family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
