Lisa Moore Cusick, 65 of Fairfield and the beloved wife of Peter Cusick, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Lisa was a Fairfield resident for over 30 years.

Lisa was born in Santa Monica, CA to Joseph Moore and Diane Moore Behrens. She grew up in Santa Monica, followed by Dallas TX, Manhasset NY, and eventually New York City. As a child Lisa spent many summers on her grandparents' farm in Indiana and in her 20's travelled extensively throughout the US, France, and Germany, where she lived for a year in Frankfurt.

Lisa attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City where she became a graphic designer. Her career spanned over 20 years in editorial design for Scholastic books, Weight Watchers Magazine, Modern Bride Magazine, and as Creative Director at International Masters Publishers.

Her life was governed by 2 central themes – love of family and love of the arts. She was a talented and prodigious painter. Her watercolor paintings adorn her home in Fairfield, and many have found their way to family and friends over the years. Lisa's backyard was her secondary canvas. Her garden is legendary in its beauty, color, and as a backdrop for gatherings with family and friends.

Her greatest joy was raising her two boys, Jack and Sam. She worked hard to provide them with a close-knit neighborhood, school system, and a community where her boys could thrive and grow. As a family, they spent winters in Vermont where both boys ski raced, and summers on Long Island Sound where they sailed. Lisa cherished the countless life-long friends met through her son's academic and athletic activities. She felt blessed at having such quality time as a family and treasured the years of adventures and laughter they all experienced together. Her two boys are her legacy.

Lisa is known by her friends for her loyalty and kindness, by her parents and siblings for her care and devotion, and by her husband for her beauty inside and out. Lisa and her husband Peter met on a dance floor at a magical holiday party in New York City in 1988. Their lifelong dance and love affair blossomed and grew for over 35 years.

In addition to her husband and parents, Lisa is survived by her loving sons, Jack Cusick, his wife Clare; Sam Cusick, his fiancée Sage, and their daughter Hazel. She will be missed by her sister, Leslie Moore Haverkamp and her husband Al; her brother, Gregory Moore and his wife Roseanne; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends may greet her family on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Road in Fairfield. Interment is private. There will be a reception at noon with details to be announced at the service.
