Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crevasse's Simple Cremation - Jacksonville on Mar. 13, 2026.
Ann Marie Wagner, 66, of Waldo, Florida, passed away on March 6, 2026. Born on March 4, 1960, to William and Lydia Wagner, she was the eldest of seven siblings and carried that role with intelligence, wisdom, and remarkable resilience. Ann attended the State University of New York at Purchase, where she nurtured her love of learning. She also attended Rutgers University and then finished up her education and career at the University of Florida.
She had a deep love for nature and animals, finding comfort in the outdoors and joy in caring for the creatures she cherished. She also had a passion for music, both listening to it and creating it.
Ann was graced with a wonderful son, Douglas, who embodies her wisdom and was a devoted, loving, and caring son. She was also blessed with her beautiful and talented daughter in law, Denise, and two amazing grandchildren, Douglas and Aurelia.
She is survived by her sisters Catherine, Eugenia, and Eleanore; her brothers Bill, John, Joseph, and Peter; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lydia, as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents, an aunt, and several uncles.
A Catholic mass and burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you have a mass said in Ann's name. Additionally, donations can be made to their local animal shelter, reflecting Ann's lifelong devotion to the care and protection of animals.
