Ann Louise Walker, 85, of Black Mountain, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Swannanoa Health and Rehabilitation.
Mrs. Walker was born on December 20, 1939, in Buncombe County where she was a resident most of her life. Louise was a member of Swannanoa Heights Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved helping others and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Colin B. Bridges and Ruth L. Bridges; husband, Oscar Walker; brothers, Bill, Ken and Junior Bridges; sisters, Lillian Phillips, Brenda Buckner and Patsy Desmond.
Louise is survived by her son, Mike Walker of Old Fort, NC; daughters, Kathy Moreno (Tony) of Saginaw, MI, and Amy Shelton (Roy) of Black Mountain, NC; grandchildren, Michael Walker (Hannah) and Audrey Shelton; great grandchildren, Sophia Walker, Scarlett Walker and Levi Shelton; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 1:00pm at Swannanoa Heights Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Bruce Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends the evening prior on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Swannanoa Heights Missionary Baptist Church.
