WORCESTER - Ann M. (O'Grady) Walsh, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 4th at UMass Memorial Health Care-Memorial Campus. Ann was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, James Mary Walsh and her three daughters, Mary, Mary Veronica and Margaret Mary. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Marie Walsh Pierozzi of Rochdale; three sons, James O'Grady Walsh and his wife Debbie of Charlton, Bartholomew McGarry Walsh and his wife Dottie of Sutton and Michael Francis Walsh and his wife Patricia of Leicester; ten grandchildren, Brian Pelczarski and his wife Kim, Kelly Ann McGourty and her husband Patrick, Shannon Dunigan and her husband Eric , Bartholomew Walsh and his wife Kate, Bartholomew Walsh, Zachary Walsh and Danny Walsh, Michael and his wife Chelsea Walsh, Shane and his wife Brittany Walsh and Adam Walsh; twelve great grandchildren, Sophie Anne, Rylie Grace, Finnegan, Grady, Deaglan, Kaitlin and Michael, Mikey, Brady, Grace, Tristan, Kylee. She was also predeceased by her sister, Peggy Heald.
Ann was born in Worcester the daughter of James and Gertrude (Hamel) O'Grady. She graduated from the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse and went on to pursue her administration degree from Assumption College. Ann worked for 30 years at Memorial Hospital and then University of Massachusetts Hospital until retirement. She was a lifetime member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and served on its financial board. Anne also volunteered at Worcester Elder Services. Ann was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Ann relished her moments spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ann's visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 6th from 4:00 until 7:00pm at CALLAHAN FAY & CASWELL FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 7th at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
