Ann T. Woolard, beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, at her home in
Washington, NC. She was born on June 28, 1943, in Beaufort County. Ann lived a life full of love, resilience, and vibrant style, reaching the age of 82.
Ann was a dedicated employee of K-mart, of Washington NC, where she worked diligently as a manager until her retirement. She also loved all things fashion related, and in the 1980's earned her Cosmetology license. She enjoyed providing a service to her family, friends and community.
Known for her classy and vibrant fashion sense, Ann's style was a reflection of her personality. Her passion for fashion was matched only by her love for her family and her faith. Throughout her life, she had several special dogs and cats who were truly members of the family. She was a devoted animal lover. In Ann's later years, she enjoyed her yard, boasting full of flowers and plants.
Ann was a member of Hunters Bridge Church of Christ in Pinetown, NC. It was during this time that she grew closer to Christ. Ann became devoted to her faith despite facing challenges, including surviving breast cancer twice. She remained steadfast and courageous, an inspiration to all who knew her.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Bertha and Leon Taylor; her beloved husband, William Ack Woolard, Sr.; her children, Greg Bland, Pam Auton, and Mike Taylor; her stepson, John Cotton Woolard; her siblings, Audrey Bright, Leland Taylor, Leatrice Bradshaw, Gilda Bland, Opal Boyd, Shirley Waters and infant Ronnie Taylor.
Ann is survived by a brother, Curtis Taylor of Black Jack and sister Genene Chandler of Chocowinity. She also leaves behind, her loving children, Gina Taylor of Washington; stepchildren, Alma Kay Woolard Mizell of Washington, Linda Lee Woolard Rubado and Kelly of Selma, William Ack Woolard Jr. of Washington and Penny Lou Woolard Ratcliffe and Billy of Kernersville. Her legacy lives on through her lineage of 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will cherish her memory and carry forward her spirit.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at the Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m., where those who knew and loved Ann can gather to celebrate her remarkable life.
Ann T. Woolard will be remembered for her indomitable spirit, her vibrant presence, and the love she held for her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
