Ann Young, age 91 years, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky died Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at her daughter’s home in Parkers Lake, Kentucky.
She was born in the Mill Creek Community on June 16, 1933 the daughter of the late William Corbit and Ollie Irene (Perry) Burnett. Ann was a homemaker and member of the Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed woodwork, being a sheriff’s dispatch for the Green Thumb Program, sewing, fishing, but especially being with her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Young; son, Wendell Young, brothers, Paul Burnett and Wilburn Burnett; 3 infant sisters; grandchildren, Jason Perry, Geneva Hamilton, Edward Hamilton, William Hamilton, Sharon Good, David Young, and Robin Young; and great grandchild, Raelynn Ann Young.
Survivors include her sons, Leslie Young (Kim) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky; a grandson whom she helped raise, Paul Young of Stearns, Kentucky; daughters, Dorothy Perry (Ken) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, Cathy Walker (Henry) of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Deborah Meadows (Roscoe) of Whitley City, Kentucky, Myrtie Strunk (Whip) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, Wahena Young (Wayne) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, Joyce Young (Chris) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, and Carolyn Coleman of Alpine, Kentucky; brother, Ben Burnett of Greeneville, South Carolina; sister, Della Sue Gosnell of Stearns, Kentucky; grandchildren, Kenneth, Cindy, Henry Joe, Michael, Jessica, Tiffany, Anna, Daniel, Starling, Mark, Jeremy, Stefany, Janet, Velma, and Holden; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and a special friend, Becky Vanover.
Funeral services will be held 1pm Friday, February 14, 2025 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Goodin and Bro. John Goodin officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Thursday, February 13, 2025 at the Funeral Home.
