Anna C. Citro, affectionately known as Anna to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, in Boston, MA. Born on September 4, 1934, to George and Anna (Melina) Sarto, Anna lived a full and vibrant life that touched the hearts of many.
Anna graduated from Somerville High School, class of 1952. She spent her working years as a secretary and hair salon attendant, bringing joy and organization wherever she worked. Anna's warmth and friendly demeanor made her a beloved figure in her professional environment.
In her personal life, Anna was the epitome of love. She was the youngest daughter in a large and lively family, which included her parents, her deceased husbands Eugene Farago and Edward Citro, siblings Augusta LoGuidice, Andy and Frank Torcivia, Angelo Sarto, Louis Sarto, Josephine Paquin, Laura Beaumont, Rose Napoli, Mary Pattie and Eva Sorrentino. Son Robert Citro. Anna is survived by her brother, Joseph Sarto, sons Edward Citro Jr., William Farago and wife Cynthia, Steven Farago, daughter Cheryl Duarte and husband Joe. Chosen family Lawrence Greco and wife Susan and Joseph Greco.
Anna's life was further enriched by her cherished grandchildren, Danielle Wetmore and husband Mathew, Jennifer Farago and partner Paul Flood, Allison Rindone and husband Joey, David Farago and wife Samantha, Danny Grecoand wife Mollie, Joseph Kelly and wife Lauren, Michaela Citro and fiancé Joe Bauer. Her great-grandchildren Gabriel and Nathaniel Kronen, Brayden and Ellie Farago, Gianni Rios, and Dawson Wetmore brought her immense joy and pride.
Her love for music and dancing was evident to all who knew her and could often be found humming her favorite tune. Anna enjoyed bowling, frequenting the dog track, and visits to the casino, where her humor and friendly nature made her a favorite among her companions. Anna's presence was characterized by her loving nature, her funny and quick-witted sense of humor, and her friendly approach to all of life's encounters.
As we remember Anna, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the indelible impact she left on the world. Her spirit, marked by love and laughter, will live on in the memories of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her. Anna's life was a testament to the beauty of kindness and the enduring power of family and faith. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a treasure to those who loved her.
Visitation will be held at Boston Cremation, 287 Main St. Malden on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home beginning promptly at 11:30 AM. There will be a burial at a later date at a location to be determined.
