Anna DeTore

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anna (n. Lovero) DeTore, a beloved wife, sister, mother, meme, and friend, who passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at the age of 88.
Anna was born in Jersey City, NJ to the late Joseph and Anna (n. Remine) Lovero. She spent 33 years in Jersey City before moving to Iselin where she resided until her passing.
She is predeceased by her husband, Nicholas V. DeTore in 2006.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Judy O'Halloran of Iselin; her son, Nicholas V. DeTore Jr.; her granddaughter, Jessica O'Halloran; her grandsons: Luke Patrick DeTore and Matthew Otsuka O'Halloran, and his wife, Natalia; her great-grandson, Logan Otsuka O'Halloran, and many nieces and nephews.
Anna was an avid audio book listener due to her blindness. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy and the EWTN channel. She loved cooking and was well-known for her meatballs and pepperoni bread. She belonged to the commission of the blind and a member of the Raritan Bay Blind Association for many years of her life.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 1225 Green St. (200 Cooper Ave.) Iselin, NJ 08830.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024 at the funeral home, starting at 9:45am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Cecelia's Roman Catholic Church in Iselin at 10:15am. A burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.
