Anna Faye Janes

Anna Faye Janes, 71, of Lexington, passed away peacefully at the University of Kentucky Hospital with family members by her side on October 15, 2025. Faye was born May 4, 1954 in Bardstown to the late Charles Raymond "Buddy" Janes Jr. and Christine Hagan Janes. She was a retired employee of 30 years from the U.S. Postal Service. Faye loved eating out with the girls, going to the movies and playing bingo. She was a loyal friend, a loving sister and aunt and a Guardian Angel for her brother, Charlie. Faye devoted the last five years of her life to caring for Charlie. She loved him more than anything in the world and there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for him. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Vincent Greenwell. She is survived by her beloved brother, Charlie Janes of Lexington, ex-husband, Ben Pardieu of Lexington, sisters, Diane Unseld (John), Marlene Greenwell (Dada Smith), Mona Allen (Danny) all of Bardstown, sister-in-law, Judy Greenwell (Butch Hummell) of Canada, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her very special friends, Betty Piper, Laurie Hawk, Debbie Godbey and Amy Fisher, who she considered family, and many more friends too numerous to mention. Per Faye's wishes, her family respectfully chose cremation. Memorial visitation will be 3:00-6:00 pm Monday, October 20, 2025 at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home. A prayer service will be Monday evening. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Nelson County Association for the Handicapped INC, P.O. Box 238, Bardstown KY, 40004. The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
