Anna Mariner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Eastern Shore Cremation and Funeral Service on Jan. 8, 2026.
Anna Kaye Mariner, born October 3, 1962, to the late John and Charlene Wylie, passed away surrounded by love and faith on January 1, 2026-23 years to the day after her beloved husband. Anna lived her life loudly and joyfully, guided by her Christian faith and sharp wit, leaving an impression on everyone who knew her.
Anna was a lover of travel and adventure, never turning down an opportunity to explore somewhere new or soak up the sun-especially at the beach. She delighted in games and puzzles and thrived at social gatherings filled with music, good food, and drinks. Her friendly nature and spirited personality often made her the center of attention, laughing alongside cherished friends and family.
She graduated from Danville High School and later earned a degree in Marketing from Southern Illinois University. Her journey led her to California, where she met the love of her life, Howard "Jake" Mariner, while he was playing in a rock band. They married and welcomed their first daughter before moving east across the country to build a life together. After years devoted to maintaining their home and embracing life to the fullest, they welcomed a second daughter. Following the unexpected loss of Jake, Anna settled in Pocomoke City to be closer to his family, where she raised their girls.
Anna is survived by her daughters, Holly (TJ) Aspdin and Morgan Mariner; her cherished grandchildren, Bella Aspdin, Titan Aspdin, and Theodore Pinter; her sister, Beverly (Joe) Tuttle-Chiedo; her brother, John "Greg" Wylie; nieces Shari Schuman and Kate Wylie; nephews David (Erica) Tuttle, Brad Tuttle, and Nicholas Wylie; great-nephews Tony (Wanda) and Michael (Savanah) Elmore and Gage Tuttle; great-great-nephew Ezra Kane Elmore; extended family Candi Orlea and daughter Ashley; and her loving dog, Bruno.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard "Jake" Mariner; her parents; siblings Robert McNeelen and Steve Wylie; and other loved ones who welcomed her home at the pearly gates.
Anna's legacy lives on through her family, her faith, and the countless memories filled with laughter, music, and love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of Anna's life will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Living Waters Church, 2226 Bypass Road, Pocomoke City, MD 21851. A reception will follow the service.
