"If I could stay, I would, but I can't. This is all in God's hands"-Mom
Anna Marie (Walker) Moretz, most affectionately known as NaNa, went to be with her Lord in Heaven on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. She was at home where she wanted to be, surrounded by the endless love of her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Annie was the loving wife to her love, John Moretz. She and John married at the very young ages of 16 and 21. The strength of their love was never-ending, where they recently celebrated their 49th year of marriage on May 29, 2025.
Ann was the proudest mother of all time. She loved to speak highly to everyone she talked to about how lucky she was to have the best children ever. Her children, Joseph (Darlene) Moretz of Bellefonte, PA and Amy (Joshie) Waldman of Millerton, PA were her "greatest blessings".
But nothing could compare to the love she had for her grandchildren, Alli and Calvin Waldman and Ashley and Emily Moretz. She was the proudest NaNa ever and would talk about her grandkids nonstop.
Ann was born February 13, 1960, in Elmira, NY, to the late Earl and Patricia (Talada) Walker. She loved to tell everyone she was the youngest of six kids. She was the beloved baby sister to Sharon (Phil) Brown, Sandra (Norman) Wolf, John (Barb) Walker, and the late Rita Walker and E. Michael (Deb) Walker. She had 19 nieces and nephews who all loved her to pieces.
Ann worked for St. Joseph's rehab for 24 years, before most recently working 11 years for the Southport Guthrie office. She was adored by all her coworkers and patients.
Ann was so kind and compassionate. A friend to all. She always had the biggest, most radiant, contagious smile and incredible laugh. She loved to take long walks and go for 4-wheeler rides.
Daisies were her favorite flower. She was an amazing seamstress and baker. She made the best dumplings, cookies, and peanut butter fudge. She loved to laugh, sing and dance, but nothing could compare to the love she had for her family.
Ann (and her family) are so grateful for the exceptional care Guthrie Sayre's Cancer Center gave her. She fought a courageous hard 3-year battle with bladder cancer. She loved all her doctors and nurses, but especially her "port ninja" nurse, Meg.
Make sure to think of Ann every time you see a daisy or eat a brownie sundae.
In a world of roses, Ann was a wild daisy.
Family and friends are invited to call from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A funeral will immediately follow at 1:00 P.M. with Jennifer Wolf and Mickey Cavanaugh officiating. Burial will take place in the family cemetery in Wells Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ann's name to Guthrie Cancer Center, 1 Guthrie Square, Sayre, PA 18840 www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
