Anna Christine "Christy" Pettitt

In the early morning hours of November 15, 2023, Anna Christine Pettitt, 74, passed, unexpectedly, into her heavenly reward. Anna, or more affectionately known as "Christy", was born in Peoria, Illinois, to the late Emily Bledsoe. She was a faithful follower of Jesus for almost 60 years, and had a passion for worship and His Presence. For almost 40 years, she was a prominent member of Harvest Assembly of God, creating Harvest' first Missionettes program, and serving faithfully as a vocalist on the worship team. A graduate of Fort Wayne Bible College, she utilized her degree in teaching to home school her three boys until they graduated. After receiving a Masters in Counseling from Regent University, Christy spent the next 25 years touching many lives as a Child and Family Therapist. For the last year, she served as the coordinator of Community Bible Study, where so many women's lives were impacted in the short time of knowing her. Christy enjoyed spending most of her time in her craft room, creating many works of art, such as one-of-a-kind jewelry, painted Mandela rocks, water-color paintings, custom bookmarks, and many other crafts. She also enjoyed making baked goods and sourdough bread. Made alongside her granddaughter, Brittany, she took immense pride in her many baked holiday treats, such as Christmas cookies, that were cherished by multitudes of people. Christy was a mother to the motherless, a servant to the needy, a beloved friend to many, and a mighty woman of God, who showed every person the love of Jesus in every encounter she had with them.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 50 years, Allard "Al" Pettitt, Jr.; son, Jeremy, daughter-in-law, Marj, and three grandchildren (Grace, Leo, and Elijah); son, Jonathan, and granddaughter, Brittany; son, Jathaniel, daughter-in-law, Amanda, and four grandchildren (Levi, Silas, Judah, and Ezra).
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Community Bible Study at https://www.communitybiblestudy.org/donate/ The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
