Anna Jean Shock was born August 29, 1932 in Todd Co, KY to William D. Kirkman and Florence Francies Kirkman. She passed away on June 2, 2025 at Ohio County Hospital. She was a homemaker who loved to go to church, read her Bible, do genealogy, take pictures and do all kinds of crafts. She lived in Owensboro for 79 years. She attended Owensboro Technical High School. She and her husband were members of Haven Pentecostal Church in Henderson, KY for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, George Edward Shock, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Vicki Shock; sons-in-law, Jack Rayman and Jeffrey Spratley; brothers, Bernard Kirkman, Bernis Kirkman, Hubert Kirkman, and Holbert Kirkman; and sisters: Verdie Williams and Vernell Williams.
She is survived by a brother, William G. Kirkman of Owensboro, KY; sister, Kathleen Oxford of Frisco, TX; children, Kathryn Rayman, Dolores Hill (Kenny), Elisabeth James, (Rodney), George Edward Shock, Jr. (Terri) and Gregory D. Shock Sr. (Karen); grandchildren, Katrina Rayman, Sarah Lanham (Lee) Darin Shock (Margot), Jamie Shock, David Shock, Jr., (Jamie), Forrest James, Jacob James (Amber), and Joshua James; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory with Jacob James officiating. Burial will be in Nickel Ridge Cemetery in Panther, KY. Visitation is from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
