Anna Maria Shoffner
Saginaw, Michigan
Formerly of Fenton, Michigan
Born January 4, 1932, died peacefully on January 9, 2024 at age 92 with her daughters Sylvia and Debbie by her side. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Shoffner, beloved grandson, Cameren J. Burdick, three brothers: Josef, Fredrick, and Johann, and one sister, Julia.
Anna was born in Sankt Anna am Aigen, Austria, the daughter of Anton Kummer and Anna Geborene Rindler. Anna spoke of her childhood with fond memories. Anna also lived through WWII and left her home in Austria at the age of sixteen to travel the world and work in many capacities. She was fearless and lived life to the fullest.
Anna met J.D. Shoffner in England, married him, and moved to the United States to begin a new life in Fenton, Michigan. She lived in Fenton, Michigan for over forty years before moving to New Hope Valley (Traditions Saginaw) in 2022. Anna loved God, nature, and animals.
She will be dearly missed by many, especially her daughters Sylvia (Shaun) Burdick, and Debbie (Keith) Bell; granddaughters, Christina and Cathryn Bell, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thank you to all the caring nurses, nursing aides, and doctors at Covenant Healthcare.
In keeping with Anna's wishes, cremation has taken place, there are no services planned at this time.
