Anne Cioppa Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 27, 2023.
Anne passed away at age 93 on July 25th, 2023, in Smithfield, North Carolina with her family by her side. She was born on July 31st, 1929, in New Rochelle, New York, to her parents John Cioppa and Mary Cioppa. The oldest of four, she had two brothers and one sister. Predeceased by one of her brothers, John Cioppa. Anne was raised in both Pelham and New Rochelle, New York. She graduated from New Rochelle High School in 1947. She then went on to receive her nursing degree in 1951 from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, New York. She also went on to earn her Master's in Nursing as well. She had a passion for her patients which stemmed from wanting to help others. Later in life, she taught nursing in four-year programs in New York. Students adored her as she was not easy to forget. Fifty years after teaching, students still wrote and visited Anne. Needless to say her impact on others, even in the academic setting, was great. She moved to Garner, North Carolina in 2008 to be closer to her family. She became active in her local Parish, Saint Mary's, and enjoyed spending time with her church community. Anne was able to watch her great-nieces grow up and was cherished by all of her family. Anne loved her family and friends deeply and wouldn't hesitate to lend a hand to anyone. She was a brilliant woman in all aspects of life but never boastful. She was known for her devotion to God and the Catholic Church. She was a very praying person who wanted nothing more than to show others God's love and mercy. Anne was loved by many and will be missed. Anne is survived by her sister; Lucille, brother; Robert, nieces; Susan (John), Christine (Anthony), Patricia (Michéle), great nieces; Gianna, Amanda, Ellie, great nephews; Nicholas and Max, and cousins; Jennifer, Joella, and Marylou.
