Obituary of Anne Veronica Joseph
January 20, 1929 – November 4, 2025
Anne Veronica Joseph, 96, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025. Born in Newark, NJ, on January 20, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Herman Franklin Douglas and Adelaide (née Woodruff) Douglas.
A proud graduate of St. Rose of Belmar, Class of 1947, Anne went on to earn her degree from New York University in 1953. She built a distinguished career as a Research Biologist at Lederle Laboratories of the American Cyanimid Company. Anne later became a Certified Financial Planner, devoting her time and expertise to helping single women gain financial confidence and independence.
Anne married the love of her life, Joseph P. Joseph, on October 25, 1975, and together they shared many happy years filled with laughter, faith, and adventure. The couple loved to travel and explore new places, spending their winters in Del Mar California. Anne and Joe always loved to tend to their colorful gardens and enjoyed hiking the Hudson Highlands. They appreciated every scenic overlook and breathtaking sunsets together.
A lifelong Roman Catholic, Anne was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Park Ridge, where her quiet strength and devotion to her faith inspired those around her.
She is lovingly survived by her brother, Robert Douglas, her sister, Joanna Douglas, and her many beloved nieces and nephews-Jennifer, Jared, Carolyn, Elizabeth, Allison, Bryan, Glenn, Robyn, Megan, and Koryn-as well as several cherished grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Anne was predeceased by her husband, Joseph P. Joseph, her parents, Herman and Adelaide Douglas, and her sisters, Mary Douglas and Frances Douglas and niece Sarah Douglas.
All services will be held privately at this time under the direction of Martin Funeral Home, Clinton, NJ. To send condolences to Anne's family, please visit www.martinfh.com.
