Anne Mary “Anna Mae” McGee (née Dunphy), of Broomall, PA, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, at the age of 80.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late James Thomas and Anna Mary (née Durkin) Dunphy.
A proud graduate of Archbishop Prendergast High School, Anne spent many years working in the health care industry as a transcriptionist for the Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital. Her attention to detail and commitment to her role ensured that important medical records were managed with the utmost care and respect.
Anne had a remarkable gift for making others smile. Her sense of humor brightened every room she entered. She delighted in summers spent in Wildwood, NJ, with her greatest joy coming from the time spent with her grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with her nurturing spirit and endless affection.
Anne devoted her life not only to her profession but also to enriching the community around her. She volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House, providing support and care to families during challenging times. Additionally, Anne led two Compassionate Friends groups, one at Marple Presbyterian Church and another at The Lighthouse Church in Wildwood, NJ, reflecting her commitment to helping others navigate their grief.
Anne was the beloved wife of Phillip McGee; the loving mother of Phillip James McGee, Theresa McGough (Tony), Shannon Buchanan (Jim), and the late Colleen McGee and Megan Elizabeth McGee. She was the caring and dedicated grandmother of Synthia, Lauran, Meghan, Patrick, Megan, Liam, Lucas, and Jimmy. She is also survived by her brother, James Dunphy.
Family and friends are invited to honor Anne’s memory at her Visitation on Monday, September 22, 2025, 9:30 am to 11:00 am at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by her Funeral Service commencing at 11:00 am. Interment will be held privately.
