"Well done my good and faithful servant." That oft spoken quote from the Book of Matthew aptly describes Anne Reynolds, the personification of caring and sensitivity from which we all drew strength.
From her youthful days in Vanzant, Missouri (Douglas County) to her over 30 year career in nursing in Springfield and the area, Anne's drive for perfection and lifelong affinity for caring served as a model for anyone in any calling to strive for and contribute the best one can achieve.
Direction, dedication, and determination the essential qualities of leadership that embodied the spirit of Anne who, so often, shoved the barriers to the sidelines and continued on in her pursuit of excellence.
Anne's greatest joy was her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her understanding and pride in her family was heartfelt and inspiring. Family unity was always at the upper echelon of Anne's priorities.
A graduate of Mountain Grove High School and then St. John's School of Nursing, Anne spent a brief period of time as an RN at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada before returning home to what developed into a lengthy and honored administrative nursing career at St. John's (later Mercy) Hospital. Anne subsequently served with the St. John's Hospice organization and later with Oxford Health Care at CoxHealth.
Anne is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Haase (husband Darrell), her grandchildren Jacob Haase (wife Andrya) and Sylvia Neal (husband Carson). Her survivors also include great grandchildren Tristan Haase, Emery Haase, and Rowan Neal. Anne's life partner, David Belt and former husband Ned Reynolds share in grieving her passing.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alvis Reece, mother, Florence (Suzie) Reece of Vanzant, MO, and her two brothers, John Reece of Springfield, MO, and Bill Reece of Warsaw, MO.
A life well spent in serving and caring for others. We all would do well to follow the steps set in place by Anne Reynolds.
A come and go reception to share memories and celebrate Anne's life will be held on Saturday, August, 30 from 10a.m.-12p.m. at Schweitzer Church, 2747 E. Sunshine in the fellowship center outside the sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne's name to the Schweitzer Church building fund at the above address, or to Jacob's Ladder House at jacobsladdercare.org.
