Daniel Rust, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on October 5, 2025. Born on May 10, 1949, in Cabool, Missouri, Daniel spent most of his life on the peaceful shores of Stockton Lake in Aldrich, MO, where his heart truly felt at home.
Daniel is survived by his children: Natasha and Donald Decker, Joshua and Jennifer Rust, Heath and Stacy Rust; his cherished grandchildren: Tobin, Aliyah, Koleton, Dyllan, Warren, Tucker, Mayce, Logan, and Avery; and his loving brothers: Troy and Susan Rust, and Tommy and Shelly Rust. He joins in rest his grandson Cody, brothers Joe and Ronnie, and his parents Glen and Violet Rust, who preceded him in passing.
Daniel's legacy was defined by the deep love he showed for his family. Being a father and grandfather was his greatest achievement, and he never missed a chance to be present for his loved ones. He was passionate about watching NHRA drag races with family and friends, making every gathering a special occasion filled with laughter and excitement. Known for his silly sense of humor, toughness, and endless generosity, Daniel was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
One of Daniel's most treasured traditions was preparing his home for the weekend adventures when his grandchildren came to visit. With snacks, water sports, movies, fresh-cut fries, lake time, and ending with family bbq, he created countless moments that brought everyone together-a testament to the love and warmth that radiated from him. Daniel will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him. His unwavering family-first spirit, loving nature, and playful heart leave an indelible mark on the lives he touched.
A celebration of life is TBD.
