Anne Tafelski Obituary

Anne Ewing Tafelski passed away on October 6, 2025, in Troy, Michigan, at the age of 59. She was born on June 17, 1966, in Helena, Montana, to Charlotte Ewing and the late Ken Ewing.

A chance meeting in Royal Oak in 1993 led Anne to the love of her life, Paul Tafelski. The two were married on her birthday, June 17, 1995, and shared 30 wonderful years together. They were blessed with one son, Frank Kenneth Tafelski, who was the light of Anne's life.

Anne was the beloved sister of David Ewing (Charlene) and Michael Ewing (Tracey), and sister-in-law of Michael Tafelski, James Tafelski, and Pam Tafelski (Pete Baenen). She was the loving daughter-in-law of Donna Tafelski and the late Frank Tafelski. She was also a devoted aunt to Ashley Ewing, Paige Ewing, Chad Ewing, Kyle Ewing, Micala Tafelski, Aiden Tafelski, Justin Tafelski, Lucas Tafelski, Isabella Tafelski, Zachary Tafelski, Jordan Lindner, and Campbell Lindner. Her faithful dogs, Brady and Sonny, were constant companions.

Anne earned her Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy, a true calling that perfectly matched her compassion, intellect, and determination. She loved her work and her coworkers, finding special joy in helping patients with complex cases that challenged her knowledge and skill. Anne served as Director of Outpatient Physical Therapy at Royal Oak Beaumont before founding her own practice, Cranbrook Physical Therapy, which thrived for 20 years in Bloomfield Hills.

Outside of work, Anne lived life with energy and heart. She was a competitive tennis player, known for both her athleticism and her camaraderie with teammates and friends. A gifted violinist as a young girl, she carried a lifelong appreciation for music. She also loved spending time at Higgins Lake, where she found peace and happiness among family and friends.

Above all, Anne was deeply devoted to her family. She had great fun over the years with family and friends traveling to watch hockey tournaments and cheer on Frank and his teammates

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Anne's life on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 3:00–8:00PM at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home – Vasu, Rodgers, Connell Chapel (32515 Woodward Avenue, Royal Oak, MI 48073). A Memorial Service in her honor will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 11:30AM, with visitation beginning at 10:00AM.

Memorial donations in Anne's memory may be made out to the Solanus Casey Center in Detroit, Michigan.
