Mrs. Anne Gunter Watson, 78, of Gray, GA, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Lynn Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Trinity Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Ostrander officiating. The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00PM.
Mrs. Watson was born in McRae, GA, on June 12, 1947, to Cecil and Gloria Ann Lucas Gunter. Before her retirement, she was employed with Riverside Clinic as a nurse. She enjoyed helping her neighbor with raising rabbits and keeping up with the red wiggler worms he farmed. Mrs. Watson enjoyed being a homemaker. She had attended Pitts Chapel UMC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Albert Watson, by a son, Greg Towns and a grandson, Lee Kirkland.
She is survived by her children, Karen Hand, James Watson, Wayne Watson, Tony Watson, Henry and Tomi Watson, William Watson, Shirley Kirkland, Johnny and Denise Watson, and Faye and Jerry Smith; by two daughters-in-law, Michelle McKinley and Denise O’Brien Watson; a brother, Curtis Anderson; two sisters, Cathy Ramsey and Cindy Eversole; grandchildren, Chase Watson, Caitlyn Watson, Erik Towns, Jessica Hand, Justin Hand, Matthew Hand, Michael Watson, Haley Watson, Austin Watson, Elizabeth Watson, Kassie Long, Alana Watson, Troy Watson, Brad Watson, Chainon Watson, Heather McNeal, Staci McGowan, Candice McGowan, Kristi Grier, Brandi Hicks, Brett Watson, Bree Watson, Gregory Towns, and Morgan Towns; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
