Anne Williams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boylan-Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. - Cranberry Twp on Oct. 6, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Anne Marie Williams passed away Saturday evening, September 27th, 2025. She was born on September 29th, 1934, in Port Chester, NY.

She was the daughter of Lucien Armond Eberhardt and Jeanne Catherine Adam, two Swiss immigrants who arrived in the United States through Ellis Island.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents, older sister Josephine Eberhardt, and her husband of 49 years, Robert Edward Williams.

She is remembered and missed by her three children, Greg Williams, Nancy Bhagat, and Robert Williams, and their spouses Luisa Williams and Erin Oliver; as well as by her grandchildren, Tim Williams, Lena Bhagat, Natalie Williams, Grace Bhagat, and Lindsay Williams.

Anne was the first person in her family to attend college. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the State University of New York (SUNY), followed by a Master of Science in Education. Using her degree, she became an elementary school teacher for over 10 years. She was deeply beloved by her students; her 3rd-grade class even attended her wedding, participating in a rice toss after the ceremony. After moving to NJ, she began a career in retail and business.

Anne was a lifelong learner and avid reader. She enjoyed hearing about her children's complex careers and playing "Prelude" by Sergei Rachmaninoff on the piano with her teacher and dear friend. She took great joy in knitting and crocheting blankets for her loved ones. She was a dedicated member of the Sherwood Oaks Choir for 19 years and loved performing in their annual holiday concerts. She could often be found with a book in her hand, especially those written by her favorite authors: David Baldacci, John Grisham, and Erik Larson. Anne held a great appreciation for nature. She could name any bird by its feathers or call and kept a grand collection of plants in her home. She enjoyed sitting outside on nice days, listening to the wind chimes and feeling the breeze on her face.

Most of all, Anne was kind. She knew the names of most residents and employees at Sherwood Oaks and delighted in making baked goods to share with them. She was a member of Saint Ferdinand's Church, attending mass every week and serving as a eucharistic minister. She spent her free time knitting hats and blankets for kids. In her final days, she became the favorite patient of every nurse and medical technician. Anne was a morning person, who even on her last day, woke up with energy and said, "hello world!". With her family by her side, she enjoyed a final party, laughing at shared stories and surrounded by balloons, music, and smiles.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to The BrightFocus Foundation which sponsors research for finding a cure for macular degeneration.
