Annette Rose Corvino (née Pumo) passed away on Monday, March 3 with her husband and children by her side, after battling multiple illnesses for several years.
Annette was a force of nature, impressing everyone with her deep warmth, creative spirit, and fierce love for her family. She married John Ralph Corvino on June 24, 1967 at St. Simon and Jude Church in Brooklyn. She is survived by him; her two children, John and Jennifer; her sons-in-law, Mark and Joe (whom she always called her second and third sons), and her beloved granddaughters, Tess, Devyn and Layla-along with many cousins, other relatives, and dear friends whom she welcomed as family.
Annette was deeply creative. She was a talented and sought-after makeup artist, founding the Annette Rose Day Spa in Baldwin, New York. Her more recent business, the aptly named "Spread a Little Joy," provided skincare products and gift baskets locally. She loved making crafts with her granddaughters; most of all, she loved interacting with people, and injecting joy into their day.
Her marriage to John inspired all who encountered them. It was affectionate, playful, and deeply committed. Their grandchildren even called them "MaPa" collectively because they were so inseparable. "Hun" (John) and "Babe" (Annette) had a sense of humor and an abiding, unconditional love that sustained them over 58 years of marriage plus nearly four years of dating. Together they raised two children, of whom Annette was immensely proud.
The most striking thing about Annette was her profound personal warmth. Everyone who encountered her, from family that she knew for years, to shop clerks that she met for minutes, delighted in her joyful presence. That presence lives on in the many lives she shaped and touched.
The family would like to thank the community at Buckner Villas, for welcoming Annette and John and keeping them in their prayers, as well as all the nurses and health care providers who have cared for her over the last several months.
In Annette's memory, the family encourages donations to the Ronald McDonald House of Central Texas
