Patrick Holmes

Patrick Lanier Holmes (Patt) - a cherished father, partner, and friend - passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, in Round Rock, Texas, at the age of 74.

Born on June 20, 1951, in Texarkana, Arkansas to Ferris McAdoo Holmes and Jane Lee Howard, Patt's life was marked by his unwavering kindness and a jovial spirit that brought light into the lives of all who knew him.

Patt dedicated more than three decades to a successful career in facilities management, where his hard work, dedication, and leadership were respected by colleagues and associates alike. His professional accomplishments were matched only by his commitment to his family and his love for the simple pleasures in life.

An accomplished bowler, Patt prided himself on the two perfect 300-game rings he earned, a testament to his skill and determination. His competitive yet playful nature also shone through in his love for poker and Mexican Train dominoes, games he enjoyed among friends at the Enclave in Cedar Park, who will sorely miss his quick wit and infectious laughter.

He was also an enthusiastic participant on the Enclave Food Committee and shared many laughs with friends at dining hall Table 44, also known as the "happy table." In his own words, he was "living the dream" in his "4th floor penthouse."

Family was the cornerstone of Patt's life. He was a loving father to his sons, Shane, Gabriel (deceased) and Shawn Holmes, and a caring father-in-law to Glenda and Jeri Holmes. Patt's joy was multiplied by his granddaughters, Madison and Charlie Holmes, and Jordan Day. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Mike and Nita Rene. His numerous nieces, nephews and cousins will also miss him greatly.

Though his marriage to Sue Holmes ended after 35 years, they remained connected through their shared love for their children and grandchildren. Patt found companionship and love with his partner, Terry Smith, who stood by him with unwavering support.

As we bid farewell to Patt Holmes, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by love, laughter, and the indelible impact he made on those fortunate enough to have crossed his path. His spirit will live on in the memories we cherish and the stories we will continue to share. Patt's life was a journey of joy, and though he will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing that his journey was a remarkable one.
