Our beloved mother and grandmother, Carmen Hernandez Muñoz, passed away on August 24th, 2025 at the age of 88.

Carmen was the heart and soul of our family, raising Julie, Richard and Abel in El Paso, TX where she led a joyful life married to Ricardo ("Richie"), who preceded her in death. She was the very proud grandmother to three wonderful boys, Paul (who preceded her in death), Michael and Mark Anthony. She was affectionately known to them as their "Gaga" and she loved to spoil them with hugs and delicious meals any chance she had.

Carmen was an avid bowler, loved to play poker, and never missed the chance to catch a good baseball game with her husband. As a talented singer, who could dazzle with the piano or guitar, she was able to turn any gathering with family or friends into a party. Many of her amazing camp side dinners ended with Carmen settling in by the campfire, playing her favorite guitar.

Her Catholic faith led Carmen to be an instrumental influence to those around her. She was a caring, compassionate woman who was always involved with her church community and never hesitated to lend a hand to someone in need.

Born in Marfa, TX to Anselmo and Maria Hernandez, Carmen is survived by her children, several brothers and sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were a large part of her life.

We honor Carmen's memory by remembering the joy she brought into our lives and the unwavering love she had for her family. She has left us with many wonderful memories that will never fade.

Dearest Richard, Julie, & Abel, my very deepest condolences. Even though I had not seen your mom in many years, she always made me smile with her quick wit and smile. Praying to our Lord Jesus Christ for peace and comfort in this very hard time. Love your cousin Patsy Aguilar Guerra.
