Sheryl Lee Holmes

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sheryl (Norton) Holmes, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on March 4, 1951, in Taunton, MA, daughter of the late Jacqueline (Azevedo) and Charles Norton.

Sheryl devoted her life to the love and care of her family. She was the devoted wife of the late William J. Holmes, whom she adored and cherished throughout their 50-year marriage. Their bond was one of deep affection, family, and partnership, and she carried his memory tenderly in her heart until her final days.

Together, they built a beautiful family. Sheryl was the proud and loving mother of five children, each of whom she supported with unwavering strength and warmth. As remarkable as she was as a mother, she loved nothing more than being a grandmother to her 12 grandchildren, she was not only "Meema," but also a confidant, cheerleader, and source of endless hugs, stories, and gentle wisdom.

She was also a dear sister to Charles Norton, always keeping family ties strong, and a loyal friend who gave freely of her time and heart. Those who knew her will remember her bright smile, her sense of humor, and the way she made everyone feel welcome and cared for.

She is survived by her five children and their spouses: Bill (Jen), Chris (Mary Beth), Traci (Tom), Steven (Chrissie), Tom (Sarah), her 12 grandchildren, and her loving brother, Charles Norton.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we take comfort in knowing that Sheryl and Bill are together again. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 74 Algonquin Ave, (Rt. 151) Mashpee MA from 4-6PM.
