Norma Frances Crete

Norma (Hendricks) Crete, 81, of Bourne, passed peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2025, after a long period with dementia, at Royal Cape Cod and Royal Falmouth Nursing Homes in Buzzards Bay. Born in Wareham to the late Ernestine (Bates) Hendricks. Norma was a proud member of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.

She was raised in Mashpee and other Massachusetts towns. Norma graduated with a degree in Social Work from Bridgewater State College. She helped many families through her work at the Royal Health Nursing Homes in Falmouth and Buzzards Bay, as well as working as a consultant for Alden Court in Fairhaven. Norma retired from Social Work in 2010.

Norma loved music. She played the piano and sang with the Saints and Singers in Bourne.

For 43 years she was the adored wife of Val Crete of Bourne. Devoted mother of Tracey, Faith, Douglas and her late daughter Linda. She was the eldest of 8, and is survived by her 7 siblings: Alice, April, Carol, Candy, Steve, Kitty and Freddie, and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 74 Algonquin Ave., (Rt. 151) Mashpee on Wednesday, September 3 from 5-7PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 4 at 10AM. Burial will follow at the Old Indian Cemetery, Mashpee.
