Annette Sue Walters

Annette Sue Whitney Walters, 84, of Rougemont, died on Thursday, August 14, 2025. Born in Licking County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Francis Eugene Whitney and Ora Louise Tower Whitney. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Mark W. Wingo and her sister, Joyce W. Hurst.

Mrs. Walters was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church. Throughout her life she was a very active member of the church having sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and served as a member of the former United Methodist Women currently known as United Women in Faith. She was always willing to help and organize the stew and fall festivals as well as any other church activities.

Mrs. Walters also enjoyed various arts such as painting, mosaic artwork and wood burning art. She was very talented- having come from a long line of family artists. During her life, Annette always put the needs of others before herself.

Surviving are her husband, Jimmie Ray Walters of the home; two sons: Brian Wingo (Diane) and Alan Wingo (Janice); seven grandchildren: Ellison Goodwin, Rachel Wingo (Matt), Ruth Wingo, Matthew Wingo, Travis Wingo, Jenna Wingo Hastings (Seth) and Eli Wingo (Jennifer); seven great-grandchildren: Charlotte Kirby, Mildred "Millie" Driggers, Finnegan Kirby, Chloe Nelson, Vera Wingo, Vivian Wingo and Teddy Wingo; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Lunsford and Norma Roberts (Jimmy); brother-in-law, Marshall Walters; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Brooks & White Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.

The family wishes to acknowledge the staff at Person Memorial Extended Care Unit and Amedisys Hospice for their care these past months.
