Annie Evelyn Couch Childers, age 95, of Anderson, SC, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Rainey Hospice House.
She was born August 18, 1929 in Anderson, SC, and was the daughter of the late Calvin and Ada Couch.
Annie will be remembered for her strong faith, gentle demeanor, and love for her family. Among her career highlights, she worked as an accountant for Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah, Georgia, Piedmont Candy in Anderson, SC, and was a sales associate with Home Interiors and Gifts. She was a longtime member of River of Life Church of God where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She loved reading, cooking, crafting, taking photos, and scrapbooking.
Annie is survived by her sister, Martha Elgin of Troy, Michigan; daughter, Terri Childers White of Anderson, SC; daughter-in-law, Debbie Childers of Pooler, GA; grandchildren Wendi Arms, Christopher White (Toni), and Katie Clayton (Ashley); great grandchildren, Micah Arms (Kirsten), Cameron White, Luci White, Annie White, Caroline Clayton, Kennedy Clayton, and Mary Kate Clayton.
In addition to her parents, she was was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 73 years, Floyd Isaiah "Ike" Childers; son, Dr. Stanley Floyd Childers; grandson, Patrick Childers; brothers Francis, Edgar, and David Couch, and sisters Irene Chasteen and Reba Mitchell.
Per her wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rainey Hospice House (hospiceoftheupstate.com).
