Amie Nichole Childers, (Amie-Bear), was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on 11/26/78, died 1/5/25 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital of injuries sustained in a fall. Amie moved to Tallahassee in 1994 with her family and attended Leon High School. As a young adult she moved briefly to Texas and Oregon, but Florida was home and she returned to Tallahassee 2007 and lived here for the remainder of her life. Amie worked with a nonprofit, Bright Ideas Gives, helping the homeless. As a Christian, helping others in need was Amie's passion – she was an organ donor and so continues to help others after her death. Amie is survived by her parents: Kate Yager and Jim (Patti) Childers; by her siblings: Tomi (Andy) Hooks, Marina Childers, Brianne Verraneault, Wintry Verraneault, and Samantha Childers; by her beloved children: Aliyah Wurster, Dominique Kinion, Micaiah Childers, Psevyn Childers, and Ireland Childers; and 2 small grandchildren. Amie's large extended family and community in Tallahassee will mourn this devastating loss. A plaque commemorating Amie's life will be placed in one of Tallahassee's parks. Her Family & her partner, Thaddeus Colson, request donations be made to Bright Ideas Gives, in lieu of flowers.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Family Funeral Home, 2555 N. Highway 93, Arco, ID. A Rosary Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a visitation to follow the Rosary. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Arco.
