Annie Ruth Snyder Cox died on Friday, October 4, 2024. She was born to Fred Neal Snyder and Ruth Miller Snyder in Forsyth County, NC, on February 6, 1927. Annie graduated from Reynolds High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for three years. She worked at Twin City Lumber Co., a family business, for five years. She married William Frank Cox Jr. on May 22, 1951, and became a homemaker. Annie will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; her sisters, Shirley Edwards, Audrey Patterson, and Vivian Gobble; as well as her brother, Fred Conard Snyder.
Annie is survived by her sister, Clarice Waddell; three children, William Frank Cox III of Colfax, Debra Ann Cox of Greensboro, and Donald Blake Cox (Dianne) of Colfax; two grandchildren, Donald Blake Cox Jr., and Melinda Shelton (Nathan) of Winston-Salem; as well as two great-grandchildren, Everly and Charlotte Shelton of Winston-Salem.
There will be a private family graveside service held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
