Tony Amarant, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully on Monday, May 9, 2022. Tony was born July 2, 1930, in Waterford, CA. He attended Livingston High School and graduated in 1950. He attended Modesto J.C. and Merced J.C. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was the manager of Van Gas Propane in Merced for 40 years. He also was a distributor for Neo Life/GN vitamins. He was a member of the Lions Club, a charter member of the Three Gateways Sports Club, and the Elks Lodge.
Tony loved sports. He attended all the local games with his wife Sharon for years (no matter what sport, boys and girls). He played and loved baseball, football, and golf. He even had two "holes-in-one" He coached baseball for years, sometimes from behind the fence in center field. They were such great fans they were the Grand Marshalls for Buhach Colony High School Homecoming Parade in 2010.
Tony loved attending Livingston H.S. Class Reunions/breakfasts and events. He loved his family and took great pride in all of us. His friends are forever, he loved them all. Family gatherings and BBQ's were a great love of his! He was a great gardener; his family reaped many good eats from his annual gardens. Tony will always be remembered for being a wonderful husband, a knowledgeable, considerate, and kind father. He was so proud of all his children, grandchildren, and all that he knew. We were so blessed to have him in our lives, we will miss him every day.
Tony leaves behind his loving wife and soulmate of 53 years, Sharon. His leaves his children Steve, of Mariposa, Michele Renee Pearson (Jim) of Modesto, Michelle De Martini Lochman (Ben) of Livingston, Lanee DeMartini (Chuck) of Atwater, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, his sisters-in-law Helen Amarant of Atwater, Gladean Corrigan of San Jose, Donna Supernaw of Fernley, NV, his brother-in-law Art Supernaw of Turlock as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and so many friends. Tony was preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Mary Amarannt, brothers Manuel and Joe, sister Theresa George (Eldon), and son Eddie DeMartini.
Visitation for Tony will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022, from 4-7pm with a Rosary beginning at 7pm at Wilson Family Funeral Chapel, 1290 Winton Way, Atwater, CA. Graveside services will take place on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 10:00am at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 Soderquist Rd, Turlock, CA.
