Obituary of Anthony M Antonucci

Anthony Michael Antonucci of Pittstown, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026. The first of three sons of John and Anna Antonucci (Vincitorio), Anthony was born on June 6, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York. His family moved to Massapequa, NY and he attended Farmingdale High School where he played football and was in the Farmingdale Dance Band. Anthony earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Behavioral Science from the New York Institute of Technology and a Master of Science Degree in Management and Leadership from CW Post.

In 1963, Anthony joined the Nassau County Police Department, serving 39 years and rising to the rank of three-star Chief before retiring in 2002. He was proud to be a law enforcement officer and proud of the men and women who served alongside him.

Anthony met the love of his life, Dr. Eileen McDonald in 1984, and they spent 40 happy years together, living in Huntington Bay, NY, Oro Valley, AZ, and Pittstown, NJ. He had a voracious appetite for life, loved music (especially Sinatra); and had a beautiful singing voice. He was an encyclopedia of classic movies, and he loved fine food, cigars, wine, golf, and travel. He was proud of his Italian heritage but, most of all, he loved his family and friends and was grateful for all he was blessed with in life.

Anthony is survived by his wife Eileen; daughter Melissa (Jeff); grandson Tristan; brothers John and Leonard; nieces Leah (Zachary) and Jessica (Vincent); nephew John Patrick (Lisa), many cousins and wonderful friends.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for a future date. Memorial Contributions in Anthony's memory may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation t2t.org or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital stjude.org.
