Anthony Louis "Lou" Assaro Sr., 82, of Wheeling, passed away on Thursday July 24, 2025.

He was born October 17, 1942, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Louis and Frances (Cuffaro) Assaro.

Lou was a Catholic and was the Founder of Assaro's Garage in 1965. He was a member of the WV Towing & Recovery Association and the Betty Zane Community Association.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Sandra Lee (Lunau) Assaro; step-father Adolph Pinamonti and nephew, James A. Scheuer, Jr.

He is survived by his two sons, Louis Anthony (Melody) Assaro, Anthony Louis (Marie) Assaro Jr.; two sisters, Rosemarie (Jim) Scheuer, Tina Teufel; step-sister, Shirley (George) Zambiasi; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Bo) Bryan, Jessica (Kyle) Brady; two grandsons, Zachary (Shawnee) Assaro, Louis Scott Assaro; great-grandchildren, Josie Bryan, Dawson Brady, Dylan Brady, Brit Assaro, Baylor Assaro and Boone Assaro.

Friends will be received on Monday July 28, 2025 from 3 pm until the time of service at 7 pm at Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Ave., Wheeling (304-277-2722). Interment will be private for family members.
