Albert Luciano Iafrate, 95, of Warwood, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Continuous Care Center.

He was born in Follansbee, WV, on December 11, 1929, son of the late Luigi and Maria Michelina Cardamone Iafrate.

Al was an Army veteran, retired from Al's Masonry Contracting and was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He served as deacon for several churches in the diocese and cooked breakfast at Catholic Charities every morning and he also packaged and delivered bags of groceries in Brooke County for several years. Al was a missionary in Africa in the early '60s where he built a seminary for the priests.

In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by two sons, David and Michael; grandson, Mikey Iafrate; three brothers and two sisters.

Surviving is his loving wife of 72 years, Theresa Francis Taibi Iafrate; daughter, Marie Iafrate; four grandchildren, Angie, Janet, Andy & Nathan Iafrate; six great grandchildren, Hazel, Luca, Bella, Benamici, Isadora, & Cecilia; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Kepner Funeral Home - Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Avenue, Wheeling, WV 26003 (304-277-2722) on Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 5-7 pm with a Christian Wake service at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 4, 2025, at 11 am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Father Andy Switzer and Bishop Mark Brennan as co-celebrants.

Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities West Virginia, 2000 Main Street, Wheeling, WV 26003.
