Anthony A. Bertone Jr., also known as Butch, 82, of Medway MA died Monday, June 9, 2025, at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham MA after a lengthy battle of respiratory illness. He was the beloved husband of J. Lynda (Mucciarone)Bertone.

Born in Franklin MA, the son of the late Anthony and Theresa (Arcudi) Bertone. He attended Milford public schools as a young boy. After his military service in the Army, he later attended the New England Appliance Service School Inc., located in Boston MA, certified in 1970.

Tony had been employed as a Police Officer for the Town of Medfield Police Department for 20 years where he had also served as their police photographer. He was a graduate of the Mass. Criminal Justice Training Program at the Quincy Police Academy.

While employed as a member of the Medfield Police Department he also owned &operated a major appliance repair business under the name of Tony's Major Appliance Repair, which later became AABCo Major Appliance Repair.

He had been a resident of Medway since 1995, and prior to that had lived in Millis, Medfield, Franklin, and Milford MA.

During his younger years he was an avid car and motorcycle enthusiast and was President of the Romans Motorcycle Club in Medfield. He also enjoyed yard work, watching game shows, playing horseshoes, card and board games, hunting, fishing on Cape Cod and area lakes, photography, and softball with brother police officers. He also enjoyed tinkering and repairing anything unfixable as well as visiting with friends. But his favorite pastime was spending time with his beloved family members, especially his three grandchildren who he adored.

Along with his beloved wife of 49 years, he is survived by his daughterDanielle M. Berejik and her husband Philip M. Berejik of Needham MA; his sonHeath D. McKay and his husband Ryan Tappin of Revere MA; his 3 grandchildren Anthony Berejik, Michael Berejik and Sofia Berejik of Needham MA; his 2 sisters Florence DuVerger of W. Dennis MA and Maria Martello of Hyannis MA; his sister-in-law Donna M. Lane of Norwood MA; his uncle Joseph E. Arcudi of Milford MA; also several nephews and many cousins.

Tony was the brother of the late Louise "Winky" Ryan of Milford MA; the nephew of the late Arthur Arcudi, the late John Arcudi, the late Samuel Arcudi, the late Antoinette Pilla, the late Anita Anderson, the late Dorothy Malisz, the late Anne Leoncini, the late Josephine Brown, the late Rose Pearl, and the late Carmella Fernandes. He was also the son-in-law of the late Peter A. Mucciarone and the late Rose (Taddeo) Mucciarone Mandra Robles and the brother-in-law of the late Peter J. Mucciarone.

Tony was a caring husband, father, grandfather, who will be missed dearly.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend his Graveside Committal Services on Friday, June 13th, at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 110 Medway Road (Rte 109) in Milford MA. There are no funeral home visiting hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.

In lieu of flowers, the family highly encourages memorial donations be made to The American Heart Association, 93 Worcester Street, Wellesley MA 02481.
